I am a control systems engineer who currently works in the renewable energy field developing the controls strategy and programming the PLC for a 1.0 and 1.5 MW hydrogen generator at Plug Power. I have experience coding PLCs, HMIs and SCADAs across Rockwell, Schneider and Siemens products.In my current position at Plug Power, I lead PLC code development which manages 15 individual hydrogen fuel cells to generate up to 1.5MW of power. I've refactored and improved code developed by my predecessor for initial testing by implementing object oriented programming which significantly decreased processing time, improved readability, and made the code much easier to update to meet ever-evolving company and customer needs. When Plug first developed our 1.5MW generator based on the 1.0 design, I led all code development and testing, integrating multiple new components into our design including a 2.5MW Inverter.I have successfully provided on-site support for high-profile clients, including Amazon in Nashville and a venture in South Korea, where I led the initial start up of several generator units, achieving significant milestones such as powering up a generator abroad for the first time.In both my current and prior positions, I've leveraged my expertise in VBA to program Excel sheets to streamline company procedures and increase the function of critical engineering documents. I've supported data analysis on multiple projects by programming macros for custom data sets allowing for much quicker analysis on test data.
