I managed the training and consultancy team at YoungMinds and I project managed a variety of service improvement, capacity building and qualitative research projects on behalf of the charity. My team and I provided a range of training and consultancy services to organisations working with children and young people. I was internally recruited into this role with a specific mandate to develop the training and consultancy service into a sustainable and fully self-funded arm of the charity. I held the full responsibility for my department’s budget, income generation, quality assurance, capacity, performance management and development of new courses and other service offerings.

I worked in three schools as well as in the community with a caseload of well over 500 young people aged between 13 and 25. My community caseload was exclusively young people not in education employment and training and I my role was to help get people into work, college or other programmes.

I was responsible for the delivery and organisation of the Citizenship, Careers and WRL curriculum across the school. I delivered the curriculum to students aged 13 to 18 and delivered training so the programme could be taught by non-specialists. I wrote the careers scheme or work, organised the work experience week and liaised with Connexions to ensure students got quality careers advice.
