Managed centrally by Carers NSW and funded by the Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ), the program enabled carers to share information and develop lasting social connections, regardless of geographical location.Key contributions included:Online Support: Provided carers with access to chat forums addressing both disability and illness-specific issues as well as general topics like health and wellbeing.Educational Resources: Developed and delivered online learning modules on various health and wellbeing topics, offering relevant and current information to carers.Community Building: Supported face-to-face carer support groups and group facilitators, and organised open forums across NSW, allowing carers to meet and connect with others in their region.Through these efforts, the program created opportunities for new, in-person groups to form and provided a platform for existing groups to continue their conversations online, thereby enhancing the support network for carers across the state.Carers were able to share information and develop social connections that could be maintained regardless of geographical location. It created opportunities for new, face-to-face groups to be created and gave existing groups a platform to continue conversations online.

The together program provided opportunities for existing and new support groups (for carers of people with disability in New South Wales) to be linked in with each other and an organisation to receive some assistance. The together program was centrally managed by Carers NSW and funded by the NSW Department of Family and Community Services, Ageing, Disability and Home Care.The together program provided:* Structured support to support groups for carers of people with disability, including training, education and support for the facilitator.* Funding to assist with some group costs that can include venue hire, administration, resources and guest speakers.* Central coordination of support groups for carers of people with disability.* Capacity building for organisations working with support groups for carers of people with disability.
