About Matthew Graham

I am a Physicist, Analyst and Programmer, but I have found I have a real talent for Project Management, QA Testing, Documentation, Technical Support and Training.I have worked for Drilling Systems (U.K.) Ltd. for 10 years, a company that makes full size oil rig simulators for training petroleum engineers. Starting there as a software developer, I progressed through the company. As a software developer I was responsible for developing the existing code base and delivering several long term projects, which I excelled at due to my physics background. My understanding of the product and industry quickly grew to the point where I was promoted to Technical Support. In this role I connected into simulators worldwide and solved problems that were preventing the customers from running their training courses. This was a varied role that also included QA testing, writing manuals and supporting documentation. This naturally lead me to create an extensive array of training material and presentations, and after only a couple years in the company I was giving my first customer training course. At the end of 2019 I was promoted to Head of Documentation and Training, and I was also trained as an internal auditor due to my keen eye for detail.Prior to my job at Drilling Systems I worked for Dematic Ltd. for 7 years, a company that designs, simulates and creates automated distribution centres. As a simulation engineer, I acted as a consultant and visited clients on site throughout northern Europe. I would analyse data, and simulation results (from simulation programs I had written) in order to optimise throughput through large and complex multi-million pound distribution centres. This involved extensive design input at the early stages of a project, and testing throughout the full project lifecycle. After becoming an expert in Automated Warehouse simulation, I was chosen to present at 2 international forums in America.
