I am an experience mental health social worker. I have worked for a community mental health teams in Manchester as well as worked in a multiple complex needs arena and supported living services as primary assessor of new clients. I have worked with all manner of mental health diagnosis in the community and worked on facilitating discharges for those detained under the civil and forensic sections of the Mental Health Act. I also helped create the charity Blackpool Inspirations, initially as a volunteer, and now as the service develops as a paid CEO. I now focus on this role full time and am growing the organisation and creating a specialist personality disorder therapeutic community in Northampton to help those with this diagnosis to have a more sustained and successful community recovery. I am skilled at strategic level service development and interagency working and service creation. I am skilled also on an individual level with the people we support, utilising a balance of my academic knowledge of the evidence base and theory and my own experience in this field to successfully work with people that others have struggled to.
