Consultancy research with University of Oxford and business clients, evaluating large datasets (e.g.: global energy technology data), model outputs, and assumptions – particularly those in IPCC databases - around decarbonising hard-to-abate sectors.

• Providing economic and strategic advice to executives across government on key issues affecting South Australia's future prosperity, including the interpretation and assessment of third-party climate models relevant to South Australia’s net zero goals;• Leading a team focused on economic strategy and policy with the aim of maximising economic development opportunities for South Australia, including the evaluation of economic viability and technological readiness of various hydrogen generation options;• Working closely with colleagues across government to ensure well-coordinated delivery of advice, initiatives, and policy reforms.

I worked with researchers across the University to overcome the limitations of past analyses and look for positive transition pathways to a post-carbon society. To do this, we identified 'sensitive intervention points' where actions can deliver impact at scale and accelerate the achievement of global net-zero emissions. We publisheded this research in high impact journals, generating further impact by ensuring that key decision-makers were involved in the process and analysis from the outset so that they could own not only the findings but also the resulting actions.My responsibilities included:• Programme Manager and lead scientist within the Post-Carbon Transitions Programme, designing and delivering economic models that measured the impact of renewable energy and other mitigation actions on carbon emissions and climate risk; • Project lead for government-funded project (£3.8M): 'Economics of Energy Innovation and System Transition,' collaborated with experts and policy-makers in China, India, Brazil, and the U.K. to determine country-specific strategies for low-carbon innovation and to develop models for assessing decarbonisation policies; • Other duties: production of scientific manuscripts as well as thematic reports for a range of stakeholders, including governmental departments, financial institutions, and industry leaders; supervision of University of Oxford Ph.D. and Master’s degree students.

Modelled the effects on human development and environmental change on United Kingdom's economic infrastructure.• Led design and implementation of national infrastructure models, integrating energy, waste, water, and transport (Python, VB.Net, C#, PostgreSQL, FICO Xpress optimiser), to determine U.K. infrastructure capacity requirements;• Initiated and awarded government funding (£320k) to collaborate with the U.K. National Infrastructure Commission to apply the national infrastructure model under various scenarios of socio-economic uncertainty and climate change; translated the generated predictions into risk and resilience assessments as well as actionable items related to sustainable infrastructure development.

Systems Manager of an information technology consultancy, providing creative systems solutions and business process engineering services. In particular, I provided full IT life-cycle project management from design to development, testing, implementation, and ongoing support.

Employed as the fisheries modelling and stock assessment scientist within the resource assessment team undertaking statistical analysis for fisheries experiments, stock assessment, and modelling on NSW fish stocks.• Co-investigator on a federally-funded project to develop development of national guidelines to improve the application of risk-based methods in the scope, implementation, and interpretation of stock assessments for data-poor species. This project involved researching current and past practices of risk management in Australia; and involved developing risk guidelines and benchmarks based on interviews with fisheries scientists and managers from each state and territory in Australia.• Responsibilities also included the development and maintenance of the Aquatic Resource Assessment Systems (RAS), production of scientific manuscripts, and stock assessment reports.

Designed and developed the company’s new distributed n-tier e-business system, known as dotCorp, built to replace the company’s entire legacy system with a thin client, n-tier e-business solution. I managed a small staff of developers and was heavily involved in the design of the system, as well as the management of individual projects within the system. I also worked within the project management office, documenting business processes, designing components, liaising with business experts, championing the fulfilment of business requirements, and overseeing the project’s cost, time, and quality.
