I have worked with Westpac NZ, in a variety of roles - both leadership and specialist positions, for over 10 years in Christchurch and in Auckland. Having worked my way up through the organisation I have gained many skills, had multiple opportunities and more importantly worked with some great people. I pride myself on leading a great team of people who share my desire to be successful and thrive in a high performance culture. I am not afraid of hard work and always ensure that the right outcome is achieved through logical and common sense thinking and making the most of challenging situations.I have a broad set of capabilities that encompass process improvement, third party vendor management, commercial strategy and a sound understanding of Finance functions. I have honed these skills over time by working on some challenging projects and working within some difficult parameters. I have delivered on numerous process improvements that have saved significant dollars, coupled with establishing some very sound win - win commercial relationships that are enduring and epitomize a true partnership culture. I value getting the most out of people and I personally love the challenge of leading people, to improve their performance and seeing them build their careers to progress into bigger roles. I thrive off seeing individuals using their skills and capabilities and taking themselves to the next level, for their advantage and for the greater good of the organisation. I have successfully supported individuals to turn their performance and achieve great results including acknowledgement for their performance at quarterly and annual Legend awards.

In this role I have a broad remit which encompasses service delivery functions for the NZ Operations team alongside workforce planning, process improvement and leading a high performing team with direct reports in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch. From a Service Delivery perspective I am responsible for managing a number of third party relationships which support the day to day running of the bank and customer transactions, such as, cheque processing, statement and letter production, the dedicated courier network, along with a number of other important functions that support the bank. The role is a balance between day to day operations, supplier strategy and ensuring that we cost effectively manage our processes.In addition, the role is responsible for process improvement across the NZ Operations team which has a nice blend, focusing on processes both internally and externally through our commercial relationships to manage our cost base and ensure that our processes deliver on the Service Revolution.

I am most proud of our support during the Christchurch Earthquakes where we were able to adapt and deliver paper free processes that ensured we delivered on customer outcomes and reduced process risk.Whilst in the role I was fortunate to gain external accreditation in six sigma through the Thornley Group and use the skills gained almost daily, both in this role and more recent roles.
