Through a team with a wide variety of skillsets, we participate in a yearly NASA University Student Launch Initiative that pushes students to meet competition requirements under a constrained timeline. As a structures and manufacturing lead I was responsible for:- Project management of a ~12 person team throughout the 10 month competition cycle. - The vehicle design process for each structural component. Some design criteria included shape, material, manufacturability, and weight. Each design consideration was simulated with Solidworks FEA Analysis for load testing, drop testing, and flow simulations at their respective max estimated force or velocity.- System integration of any iteration or finalized design consideration across the multiple sub-teams throughout competition.- Facilitating the scheduling and manufacturing of the vehicle components for sub-scale and full-scale.
