About Matthew Mackey
I've been coding since I could type, and I have the skills and intuition that come with that. New libraries and languages generally come easy to me because I know, eventually, it's all ones and zeros. Like all engineering, good software is made by mixing the science that makes it fast and reliable with the art that makes it easy to maintain and grow. When leading a team, I try to ensure that everyone has a sense of ownership of what we build, and that they can attack the problems they find engaging. If there's a human interface, the user is paramount -- a developer's notion of how things should work must be informed by real world use cases. There is rarely a better reward than the thanks you get when you hand someone the perfect tool for their job.
