I was engaged by the Department of Environment, Food and Rural Affairs in the UK to undertake a forensic review of the $1.3bn of eradication costs incurred by the UK Government in respect of the 2001 Foot and Mouth Disease outbreak. The review focused on discrepancies between what services private contractors actually provided and what they charged for and also ensured invoices paid were in line with service contract terms. The review supported legal claims made against private contractors for overpayments.
