SOE Rollout Project

Brought in to the Implementation Services group of Telstra to assist in ongoing projects related to the Qantas account. I worked closely with project managers and Telstra's Project Management Office, coordinating simultaneous projects. As part of the project team, I provided team leadership, risk/issue management, change control and stakeholder communications skills.Responsibilities and AchievementsManaged the upgrade of 210 Netware servers worldwide to Zenworks 7.1 and Symantec Anti-Virus. Responsibilities included scheduling, resource management and stakeholder communications. Installation and commissioning of Blackberry and SQL servers for Qantas flight crew Blackberry solution.Management of the commissioning and decommissioning of Qantas servers and sites.Responsible for project reporting and Project Management Office updates.Scheduling of meetings and taking of meeting minutes.Planning and implementation on the QIPII infrastructure replacement program.Lodgment and tracking of changes through the IBM Change management system.Risk and contingency planning, resource management and stakeholder communications. Developed a close liaison with the Qantas Business, communicating information such as, the agreed schedule and expected impact and associated risks.

In 2005 an HSBC Group initiative was to deploy a Group Standard Operating Environment. This would be implemented as part of a global move to Active Directory thereby facilitating maximum flexibility better security etc. I was asked by the Project Manager to join him at HSBC and assist with the delivery of this Project. My inital tasks was to build relationships with all Business Units contacts, help with the development of the overall Project Plan and deliverables.Responsibilities and AchievementsResponsible for the design and documentation of all aspects of the migration process for transferring 1400 HSBC users from Windows 2000/Netware environment to Windows XP/Citrix/Active Directory.Management of deployment teams responsible for migrating users from NetWare environment to Windows XP/Active Directory.Management of all HSBC desktop and laptop assets during rollout ensuring necessary hardware was available for upcoming migrations.Planned and oversaw decommissioning of Domino and NetWare servers.Scheduling of weekly meetings and taking of meeting minutes.

Initially recruited as a desktop team leader to support the Qantas account. I quickly acquired more responsibilities including design consultation, Proof of Concept testing and manager of implementations. Later in my contract I became responsible for the planning and co-ordination of all activites relating to the desktop/server migration of Adelaide airport.Responsibilities and AchievementsProject Manager for the migration of all network and desktop infrastructure from Adelaide international and domestic airports to a new Adelaide airport terminal.Management of deployment teams (Australia-wide) performing migrations to new NetWare servers and installation of Windows 2000/XP SOE.Liaised with and advised Qantas senior management regarding scheduling of staff migration tasks.Designed asset and software tracking database for global hardware deployment project.Successful migration of sensitive 24 x 7 data centers and critical Qantas operational areasDesigned implementation strategies for the migration of user data, accounts and subsequent decommissioning of legacy NetWare infrastructure.Involved in numerous pilot programs and testing of new procedures and technologies prior to full scale rollout.

Team leader of upgrade rollout team, recruited to upgrade Crane's network hardware and software as the first stage working toward a rollout of JD Edwards system across their divisions. The rollout project incorporated multiple divisions and sites across Australia. Once the rollout was completed our focus was directed to documentation and the handing over of ongoing support to Unisys.Responsibilities and AchievementsLed rollout teams to customers sites to perform migration to new computer hardware and Windows 2000 SOE.Windows 2000 SOE rollout on Compaq computers and laptops.Installation of Windows 2000 servers ensuring compliance with documented standards.Installation and configuration of Cisco switches and hardware upgrades of Cisco routers.Installation and support of Blackberry Enterprise Server for Microsoft Exchange.Documentation of installation procedures, site manuals, user guides and handover information for Unisys.

in a team of eight people and supporting more than 1600 users Australia wide. The network consisted of Novell eDir, Active Directory and Lotus Notes as the email system. There were more than 150 servers at JP Morgan using various operating systems.Responsibilities and AchievementsSystem security team member on a project to migrate from NT4 to Windows 2000 and NetWare 5 to NetWare 6. This included new network accounts and group creation and data migration.Processing of system security requests, including auditing and network account creation and deletion on multiple systems.Administration of Sybase, Mainframe, AS400 and numerous in house applications.
