After stumbling into education and a teaching career, I soon developed a real passion for fostering a love of learning within children. Being able to create engaging and fun lessons that challenge and inspire a deeper sense of thinking is one of the reasons I love teaching, especially within a primary classroom.After teaching for over 3 years in various parts of Australia, including a great stint in Broken Hill, I decided to take to the skies and fly to London. Before setting off, I had been passed the details of Vibe through fellow teachers so signed up and let the adventure begin.After several weeks of doing day-to-day supply, I found myself in a 7 week block teaching Year 3 in Wandsworth. It was a fantastic little church school where I really developed my skills as a teacher gaining more knowledge about thorough planning, better differentiation and ongoing assessment including APP and AfL. This little 7 week block soon extended and after more than 5 years teaching, making many life long friends and also meeting my wife, I was soon looking for the next challenge in my teaching career, little did I know what this challenge would be...Having previously worked through Vibe and establishing great friendships within the office, I was presented with the opportunity of experiencing life on the other side of the fence.What really inspired me about working through was the fact that everyone in the office is a teacher and still actively taught in the schools they work with. This allows each consultant to develop more knowledge of the specific needs of each school because as we know, not every teacher fits with every school and vice versa! Continuing to teach also helps us to keep informed about the challenges and issues that teaches face daily. It also assists us with preparing teachers for every day they go out to a school and give them the best possibility to inspire better education.
