Working with my job-share, we set-up and led a brand new ‘Futures Lab’. An 18-month project to explore and test ways for organisations to be ready for the future and how funders can support them to be sustainable and have more impact. We worked with over 400 organisations over 18 months delivering 8 new models to support organisations.

Creating new partnerships, innovative initiatives and tech programmes for Comic Relief. I led the development of innovative partnerships and programmes with high profile partners. I work on creating new initiatives with partners from the private sector, tech spaces, government, philanthropists and other funders and NGOs. Leading Scope's Social Change and campaign initiatives.I led the Campaigns Team, Parliamentary Team and a new Community Campaigns Team which I set up. We campaigned on social care and developed a new ambitious attitudinal change campaign - End the Awkward - with colleagues in our Communications Department. Creating and delivering a new Public Engagement StrategyI developed a new strategy that doubled our activist base. This included managing our community campaigning, activism work, campaigning groups, our work in schools and with young people and our engagement programmes at summer music festivals. I established new partnerships with organisations such as MADE in Europe and the Board of Deputies of British Jews.

Inspiring youth-led advocacy programmesI led our youth-led advocacy and global youth work programmes, including campaigning projects at the UN, UK Parliament, National Parliaments and with the wider public. My main role was to develop and maintain a portfolio of campaigns that young people in YMCAs could get involved in. I collaborated with relevant international campaigning organisations or networks that focus on YCI’s key thematic areas and took a lead on the MAKEPOVERTYHISTORY Youth Working Group, delivering the Gener8zone in Edinburgh as part of the main MPH rally. I also developed the website at YCI as a site that promoted out work and relevant campaigns.

I wrote and delivered lectures for both the De Montford University MA course in Youth and Community work and George Williams College’s BA course in Youth Work. These lectures help the students to understand the concepts of globalization and how they impact on the lives of young people. We then explore global youth work practice and how to develop and run well principled global youth work programmes with young people. I am also a supervisor of 3rd year student work placements from De Montfort

I lobbied MPs and Lords, was the secretariat for several All Party groups and organised supporter events and campaign actions. I provided parliamentarians with briefings and support on issues relevant to the Arab world. I also support our education team at CAABU and designed and produced educational materials for use by teachers in schools.
