I was a Senior Researcher under Averell "Ace" Smith and Sean Clegg for three years. We worked on hundreds of races, performing opposition and defensive research for candidates at all levels in over 20 states. I received training as a researcher from two of the best political minds in the business and was well prepared to start my own research business in 2003.

I began to build my media consulting business in 1998 with corporate, nonprofit and public clients. Duffy Media Relations provided writing, researching, fundraising and organizing services to its customers. I chose to follow my love of politics, and in 2000 began shifting Duffy Media's focus towards campaign work. I worked on several campaigns, including Congresswoman Barbara Lee, Assemblyman Leland Yee and Public Defender Jeff Adachi. I also worked with PayPal, the Los Angeles Community College School District, Prentice Hall Publishing and several other Fortune 500 companies.

I received my first dose of Bay Area politics as a campaign and mail consultant on eight local races in Solano, Marin, Napa, Sonoma and San Francisco Counties.

My career in community affairs began as a journalist and editor of the Ross Valley Reporter Marin County, a local weekly newspaper. As a young editor, I covered local government and important community issues. My dedication to the area and insightful articles earned commendations from both the San Anselmo and Fairfax City Councils.
