My name is Matthew Bates, I am from West Hartford Connecticut and I am a current student at Indiana University looking to major in Management at the O'neill school. I am skillful and capitalize in leadership opportunities and positions. Growing up and being a part of teams that were bigger than one person, I learned how to unite and motivate my peers around me. I have been a part of different leadership roles and unique opportunities that have allowed me to acquire different leadership and management skills. My skills of accommodating others, stems from my ability to convey and illustrate my thoughts and ideas while also being attentive to others and their ideas. I value honesty and integrity while holding myself to the same standards as my peers. My most valued qualities are my determination and compassion for others. While I actively enjoy the presence of others, I value my independence and ability to perform and succeed on my own. I am unafraid and willing, to complete tasks independently and hold myself accountable. In my recent academic career I have had an interest in business, specifically business management and working with others. I am passionate about what I do and I achieve tasks with care and effort. I have prior experience working in the resturant industry .
