Working as a developer within the Management Information Team. The MI team work closely with teams across the company, especially the finance team, to ascertain their data requirements and design the required data feeds and reporting systems. This involves the ability to have good problem solving skills and be able to translate the requirements of non-technical staff into a technical solution. The MI team works across the full development cycle in an agile environment.The major technologies we use are SQL Server 2016, SAP Business Objects, MS SSIS, MS SSRS and Tableau.• Develop a single source for AUM and Flows which takes information from across our data suite, applies business rules to the data and combines the data with look through data from fund platforms.• Develop the routines which automate the provision of month end Group AUM data.• Jupiter merged with Merian in 2020. The Management Information Team developed both tactical and strategic solutions to integrate the existing Merian systems into the Jupiter environment.• Developing new data ETL processes to ensure that change of trade accounting data suppliers progressed smoothly, resulted in no loss of data or interruption to Jupiter’s day to day business processes.

The Management Information Team develops the systems which take Trading Account data feeds from Jupiter’s suppliers and transform the data into interfaces useable to provide financial information across the company. The Support Analyst role provided SQL, database and report design expertise to help support scheduled tasks, reports and data warehouse updates.

The role of Business Systems IT Manager was created as a result of the reorganisation of the Children’s Services department of Southwark Council. The role involved my previous responsibilities but expanded into the management of the 5 core management information systems used by Children Services. The team I managed fulfiled a development and support desk function for these core systems and many other IT systems used within Children’s Services. With the pressure on budgets in the Public Service, the team I managed had a focus on ensuring better use of IT by staff and identifying where efficiencies and improvements to the service could be made by using IT.

As Manager of the Capita ONE team I was responsible for developing the use of the Capita ONE database system across the Education department, whilst also taking on responsibilities around team management and application management. The application management involved developing good relationships with both the suppliers of the system, the council’s third party IT suppliers and senior management within the Children’s Services department of Southwark Council.

Systems Officer developing the use of the EMS database system. This is a proprietary database system developed by Capita to manage all aspects of Educational information from personnel details to the Admissions process for schools. Tasks included • Designing and documenting new Crystal reports and maintaining existing reports• Designing bespoke Access systems to enhance the functionality of the EMS system• Designing bespoke Access systems to streamline data collection and processing system for the Performance Information and Analysis Team• Designing workarounds using combinations of PL/SQL, MS Access and MS Excel to ensure that essential education processes can be completed to deadlines when the proprietary software doesn’t work as specified

Worked as a contractor, the major contract was with SWX. I also had contracts with a major tea company to develop a market research database and a train franchise to develop a customer contacts database.

Whilst contracted to SWX my role was to develop a new companies and contacts management database, to support legacy Tradepoint systems and to provide support / development for other database systems as required. The major projects I worked on were:• Design of a companies and contacts management database. Access front end, SQL Server 2000 back-end. The database was designed to integrate the data held on several separate data sources by different departments into one integrated system, which could be accessed at differing levels of security. It also provided the functionality to produce mass mailings quickly and track calls made to the contacts.• Inter Dealer Broker – a database which took data provided by the internal trading systems and data provided by Inter Dealer Brokers and matched the trading information.• Liquidity Scheme Database – a database that used information generated by the IMIS system to calculate which liquidity scheme members had reached the qualification level.• Internal Help Desk Database – I migrated this from Access 97 to Access 2000, streamlining the data structure and redesigning the front-end

Whilst at Tradepoint I held responsibility for designing support system databases and their user interfaces. These included contact databases, billing systems and the main statistical database containing full details of all the trading carried out on the exchange.I worked as part of a small team with a large amount of independence to develop the systems and respond quickly and efficiently to the end users requests for system changes.
