Worked with a group of 3D modelers, UI/UX designers, sound designers, game designers, and other software engineers to create a mini team-based parkour demo game called Volcano Escape using the Reworld engineBrainstormed ideas with project lead and game designer to create unique and fun mechanics for the gameConverted those ideas into readable code to make the mechanics work: -Server-side timer for course: ensuring the UI timer for each player was synced with server timer; event changes matched up properly with timer i.e. (race start, race finish, waiting for enough players to start timer) -Leaderboard bracket: Getting the time it takes for each player to finish the course and displaying each player rank according to who finished faster -Power ups: simple power ups for players to grab to gain effects for a certain time i.e. (speed, jump boost)Tested mechanics and conversed with project lead and game designer to ensure MVP was met for 2-month deadline
