Yemen

Going to Yemen, I registered Medair as a humanitarian agency with the government, set up the office and team of 10 expatriates and 50+ Yemeni staff. Implementing multi-sectoral relief projects (health, nutrition and water sanitation and hygiene (WASH)) in response to the ongoing humanitarian crisis.

Consultant Wells Engineer. Operations Engineer for various workovers, achieving 25% cost saving against budget. Front End Wells Design for oilfield development; optimizing well planning, considering existing well-sites versus new drilling pads, environmental impact and cost. Studying opportunities to optimize well abandonments, such as dual casing milling.

Investor/Entrepreneur renting out multipurpose space. Envisioning a long-term investment, my business partner and I acquired a 6000m2 building on the green edge of an industrial area, which we redeveloped to rent-out workspaces, art-studio’s and storage boxes.

Sudan

Assisting in the close-out of Medair’s West-Darfur programme (WASH, health and nutrition). Handing over program activities to communities, INGO’s, UN and line ministries, while fulfilling donor reporting requirements

Afghanistan

Managing a team of up to 9 expatriate and 300 Afghan staff and an annual budget of 40 million USD (AVIPA Plus program funded by USAID), we implemented wheat seed and fertilizer distributions benefitting >600,000 farmers in 31 provinces. In addition we rolled out a farm mechanization program with support systems, providing 4,000 Afghan farmers access to.

West Darfur - Sudan

Managing a team of 20+ Sudanese in installation of emergency water supply systems in refugee/IDP camps (tanks and bladders with tapstands, bacteriological water quality testing, chlorination of water sources), construction of wells and latrines, managing supply chains for operation & maintenance of drinking water systems for 90.000 IDPs.

Afghanistan

Implementating Disaster Response and Preparedness Programs in southern Afghanistan. Livelihoods programs, cash/food for work for improvement of irrigation infrastructure, training of farmers/women in kitchen gardens, distribution of seed/fertilizer and other Food/Non Food Items.
