For this 4 month assignment, I worked in the economic/political department of the U.S. Embassy in Abu Dhabi, UAE. I worked closely with other economic/political officers and locally employed staff to research and report on key economic and political developments in the United Arab Emirates. I obtained information from a variety of published and unpublished sources in order to prepare factual and comprehensive analytical reports. I maintained working level contacts with UAE nationals and served as an advisor and primary contact for both foreign and domestic government, business, and industry officials to promote USG political and economic interests and opportunities.
