Intuitive Surgical's Talent Exchange Program(TXP) was established to give a group of employees a broader view of the company and help them see past their own job responsibilities. Five employees from different areas of the company were selected to rotate through each others jobs over the course of a year, each rotation taking one quarter. Below I have briefly explained the roles I took on over the course of that year.Systems New Product Development - Designed and prototyped a new minimally invasive surgical robot working with a team of Electrical Engineers, Clinical Development Engineers, Interaction Designers and Software/Controls Engineers . During this quarter I was involved in the development of the da Vinci X Surgical Robot. Stapler New Product Introduction - Developed processes and equipment for da Vinci Xi EndoWrist Stapler Instruments. Supported new product as well as existing product lines.Advanced Energy Instruments New Product Development - Designed new electrosurgical instruments for use with the da Vinci Xi/X. Assisted in the evaluation of new products and add to company learning around Monopolar and Bipolar energy instruments.Endoscope Supplier Engineering - Worked on supplier selection and development for Intuitive's line of Endoscopes. Developed relationships with suppliers and helped them write process qualifications that were up to medical device standards.
