Matthew is a Technical Product Manager with over fifteen years experience working for hardware and software manufacturers in the Media and Entertainment vertical and a track record of delivering and commissioning projects in this space. He is responsible for product in the Cloud Software and Analytics business unit; including being the Product Owner for CatDV.He delivers projects on time and within budget working in an Agile fashion and is passionate about creating relevant and differentiated products. He has worked on both hardware and software programmes. As a Product Manager, Matthew is practised as acting as the "voice of the customer" and understands complex requirements and workflows and why they matter to your business. Matthew champions a DevOps style approach to development and enjoys breaking down barriers between traditional silos e.g. "dev", "test" and "ops".Matthew is a skilled communicator, able to explain complicated technical concepts and ideas to a non-technical audience. He is practised in articulating requirements both for hardware and software and is able to document and maintain technical solutions, documentation and drawings. Matthew is a computer scientist who is comfortable configuring hardware and software systems, including broadcast equipment, servers, network equipment and complicated software. He is just as comfortable in a linux shell as he is in Microsoft Powerpoint and loves writing code, is experienced in debugging and troubleshooting hardware and software, especially in complex distributed systems and reading log files! He is a big advocate for the containerisation of applications.Matthew has aspirations to become a CTO in the future. In his spare time (what?!) he enjoys cooking, growing vegetables, running, cycling, the great outdoors, spending time with his family and two young children, shooting film with his Canon camera, editing in Adobe Premiere and tinkering with his numerous Raspberry Pis. He is fascinated by nutrition and diet; specifically around metabolic health. During the Covid-19 pandemic he ran an online radio station for his friends on a Friday night and a zoom disco for his then toddler's son and friends! He is a tech "junkie" and mildly irritates his wife with the proliferation of gadgets in their "smart home". "Alexa, take over the world.....". He has a strong community ethic and has volunteered for theatre, the olympics, scouts and church as well as fundraising for cancer support and research charities since his wife's diagnosis of an incurable brain tumour.
