Situated in a regional setting, working at Burnie Physiotherapy & Sports Injury Clinic has given me the opportunity to work with a broad spectrum of clients including state-level athletes, tradesmen, recreational sportspeople, DVA and worker's compensation claimants. I have assessed and treated a similarly broad range of injuries and conditions, but maintain a special interest in the lower back, shoulder and knee. Being a well-equipped practice, I have been able to use Clinical Pilates extensively, along with Hydrotherapy as rehabilitation tools, on top of the regular physiotherapy treatment skills. I have also been trained in the use of specialised equipment such as the Surfset and Corestix for rehab and strengthening purposes, and Gaitscan technology for assessing lower limb biomechanics and prescribing custom foot orthotics. Over this time, I have also had the opportunity to liaise with the local health providers and have made presentations to the local general practices on common conditions seen by physiotherapists and the Better Back Program.
