Known to both Directors, I was specifically brought into the business to revitalise the new business operation due to their recent merger. On joining the business, it became apparent that the two business systems were not aligned. In the 3 months that I was there I worked to understand the separate business systems and brought them together, taking the best from each and maintaining commonality, the result of which yielded improved process control and profitability. During this process I identified a shortfall in resource within the IT department which was having a negative effect on a new business project for J D Williams, a major client the business had just won. To remedy this, I resourced an IT apprentice, who I arranged specialist training for and brought them into the business. This additional resource delivered correct KPI results to this major client.During the merger, the new business operation I was responsible for:• Development of new business development strategy• Prospecting activities• Account management for existing clients• Working to established KPIs• Review of Data processing and production software, in order to bring in improved profitability in high yield service offering.
