Providing education and training for diabetes FDA approved technology products to patients and Health Care Professionals (HCPs); Educating patients, physicians, nurses, educators, and other HCPs regarding the importance of intensive management of patients with diabetes using Medtronic Diabetes products such as insulin pumps, continuous glucose monitoring, and smart insulin pens; Focusing on providing clinical education and training to patients new to insulin pump therapy; Ensuring prompt insulin pump therapy initiation and follow up; Providing diabetes self-management education and support; Providing adjustment of insulin pump settings to ensure optimal pump therapy under training protocols; Assisting HCPs in assessing and managing patient’s Medtronic therapy to help ensure positive outcomes; Troubleshooting clinical and technical issues regarding Medtronic products and therapy; Consulting and presenting to individuals and groups on behalf of Medtronic Diabetes; Planning, organizing, and managing assignments within allotted budget; Traveling in assigned territory on a regular basis and attending seminars, symposiums and special events as directed; Conducting on-site education and/or consulting related to the management of patients with Diabetes using Medtronic Diabetes products.

Managing grant funded diabetes program to implement initiatives on treatment and prevention of diabetes for the Maniilaq service area (12 villages in remote Alaska); Responsible for supervision program staff (dietitian, nurse, support staff), and distribution of budget and resources; Providing direct patient care as a clinical pharmacist with a diabetes care and education specialization; Responsible for chronic disease management to optimize medication regimens under protocol agreements with providers; Providing diabetes education to client at risk of diabetes or with pre-diabetes, with and clients with diabetes; Remote patient monitoring through continuous glucose monitoring devices and telehealth visits. Helping the organization meet diabetes quality metrics (GPRA, HRSA and CMS); Serving as a clinical pharmacy preceptor for pharmacy residents and pharmacy students; and providing medication and practice-based education/training to residents, students and other healthcare professionals.
