In my role as a case investigator/contact tracer I act in accordance with directives delivered by the NJDOH and Burlington County Health Department. My daily tasks include contacting individuals who have tested positive for COVID-19 to assess whether or not they are in need of social support, and to provide them with the correct isolation guidelines. In addition, I reach out to people who have been in contact with confirmed COVID-19 cases. I inform these individuals of their potential exposure to COVID-19 and provide them with the proper quarantine and/or masking guidelines.

To maintain a productive classroom setting, I created and lead creative hands-on educational activities and projects based on my observations of children’s interests and skills. I was also tasked with collaborating with the teaching team to develop weekly lesson plans. Lastly, to establish and maintain good rapport with parents, I documented and reported their child’s important milestones on a daily basis.

In my role at Carrier Clinic, I directly supervised and served as a primary counselor for 12-20 adolescents combating a wide range of emotional and behavioral issues. During each shift, I assisted in running activity, support and recreation groups with guidance from clinical staff. I was also trained in verbal de-escalation to provide behavioral management and crisis intervention when necessary.

Rutgers University

As an intern with the Rutgers Future Scholars Program, I was tasked with developing a legacy project, which is a set of activities and programs used to benefit the students participating in the program. As a lead mentor, I worked closely with the RFS staff, school administrators, students, and other mentors to ensure that the weekly mentoring plans were effective for students.

Piscataway, New Jersey

Within my role as an after-school program tutor, I was tasked with helping approximately 10-20 children in grades K-9 with completing homework assignments. I also provided one on one tutoring if requested. As a tutor and camp counselor, I actively monitored children’s play activities to ensure and maintain safety. A major component of success at this job was teamwork. I often had to collaborate with coworkers to create and facilitate activities for the children.
