My internship included shadowing a physical therapist and doing hands-on work with children. I learned how to create advanced treatment plans and coordinate all levels of care including speech, OT, and PT. I observed programs to develop and maintain motor movement, restore mobility, and work closely with developmental disabilities. Not only that, but I was also able to observe coordination between families' therapists. I was also able to do hands-on work directly with children. I also observed how to coordinate insurance details for all types of care and the communication required to advocate for pediatric patients.
