As a Program Assistant for an international economic and analytics consulting firm, I supported projects and proposals aimed at developing economies throughout the Global South by increasing trade, promoting government transparency, and improving women’s access to economies. These projects were funded by USAID, DFID, GIZ, and other large international donors. My responsibilities included tracking deliverables and budgets, drafting contracts, liaising with home office and overseas staff, arranging meetings, editing documents for project deliverables or proposals, and setting up two new program offices overseas.

I provided administrative support to U.S. Pharmacopeia's Promoting the Quality of Medicines (PQM) program, which is a USAID-funded office seeking to secure quality medicines in the developing world. My responsibilities included organizing PQM's complex contract system, coordinating travel logistics and meetings and preparing general correspondence, purchase orders, and monthly invoices. All activities were compliant with USAID standards.

Tufts University

Building Understanding through International Learning and Development (BUILD): India is a student-run sustainable development organization in Thottiyapatti village in Tamil Nadu, India that focuses on holistic rural development through improvements in education, income generation, and health and sanitation. We worked in partnership with Payir, a local NGO, and local government workers to create and implement projects, such as the creation of an EcoSans toilet block, learning center, and community health and income generation clubs (with a focus on women’s economic empowerment). I specifically managed the Campus Outreach, Financial, and Monitoring and Evaluation Committees, new member recruitment, and field visits. I was a recipient of two $5,000 grants under the EMPOWER Fellowship at the Institute for Global Leadership to travel to Thottiyapatti. The first grant was received in 2013 to pursue the creation of Community Health Clubs. The second grant was received in 2014 to monitor post-construction improvements to EcoSan toilets and implement behavioral change models.

The Consortium on Gender, Security, and Human Rights is a think tank seeking to provide information on the role of women in conflict and conflict resolution. As an intern, I provided organizational, administrative, and research support to support the Consortium's mission. Specifically, I organized the liaison between the Consortium and the NGO Working Group (NGOWG) on WPS, which advises the UN on policies that pertain to Security Council Resolution 1325 (2000), provided feedback on NGOWG documents, tracked events and research of other feminist security organizations and assisted with maintenance of online research database.

I interned for the Summit Policy Liaison Office, under the Bureau of African Affairs to support the planning and logistics of the first U.S.-Africa Leaders Summit. My responsibilities included drafting memos, organizing the travel and logistics of the 50 African delegations, and assisting in pre- and post-Summit meetings with the African embassies to manage event communication and collect knowledge-gathering, in both French and English. I also served as the Deputy Liaison Officer for the Guinean Delegation, which included President Alpha Condé and other senior Guinean officials, and supported the Guinean Embassy in its preparations for the Summit and provided on-the-ground logistical support during the Summit.
