I interned at Inland Empire Waterkeeper through the Santa Ana Watershed Project Authority's (SAWPA) Disadvantaged Communities Involvement (DCI) Program. I learned about water management and community engagement through water monitoring for the Upper Santa Ana River. For this project I collected usable data on the water quality at different site location to determine whether the site along the river bed were currently meeting regulatory requirements. I also assisted in writing up a Quality Assurance Project Plan (QAPP), grants, and outreach material.

Collaborated with Metropolitan Water District to create an innovative, environmentally friendly product designed to save water, create energy, and promote sustainability. I worked on the filtration aspect of the project. I worked in a team to create a bicycle that could be used to filter water in a new and innovative manner. This product was intended to be implemented in developing countries.
