Urbanful is a new project of Smart Growth America that celebrates city life. I started when we launched our first beta site, and since have been part of a great team that's brought Urbanful to where it is today. We've used Lean Startup methods to iterate on the original beta, and are now primarily an e-commerce site featuring small businesses based in cities across the US. My responsibilities included:-Through creative content, digital marketing, partnerships, PR, and social media, drove the website from beta launch to 2.8 million pageviews in the organization’s first year -Built an online publication from the ground up, reporting on urban trends and social innovators that make cities unique; Served all functions of Editor-In-Chief, hired a team of 12 freelance writers, published 30 pieces weekly at peak of publication; Developed multi-channel publication strategies-Developed, conducted, and assessed customer acquisition and engagement strategies using Lean Startup methodology; tested via email campaigns, digital ads, and landing pages-Created customer feedback channels, including regular surveys and in-person customer discovery interviews to hone customer experience and improve product offerings-Designed email marketing program and established email as the top driver for Marketplace sales-Established marketing protocols and best practices for announcing new marketplace products, sales, and campaigns to operationalize work plans-Monitored metrics via Google Analytics, Mailchimp, and Wordpress; Reported on marketing campaigns to senior management and Board of Directors; Documented best practices-Managed marketing budget and staff including fellows, designers, videographer, and digital strategists
