A highly experienced senior biomedical engineer, with a demonstrated history of both doctoral-level research in additive manufacturing patient-specific facial prosthetics, as well as patient-facing clinical experience and engineering project management, on varied projects from cutting guides to medical phantoms.Currently working as a postdoctoral research associate, focussing on patient-specific spine models, through the use of CT and MR imaging, DICOM segmentation, additive manufacturing and (ex vivo human) biomechanical specimen testing.Transferable skills include; project management, biomechanics, additive manufacturing, surgical guides and implants, functional lattice generation, CT & MR imaging, DICOM processing and segmentation (Materialise Mimics) custom medical device, fixture & guide creation (Materialise 3-matic), CAD design and implementation (PTC Creo), experimental design, biopsy and tissue harvesting, 3dMD camera data capture, colour calibration and surface profiling, knowledge of ISO 10993, UK MDD & EU MDD Standards, PRINCE2, biocompatibility assays, material characterisation (knowledge of BS EN, ISO & ASTM standards), surgical design, MatLab, ABAQUS, Python, outreach & engagement, public speaking & presenting.
