I serve our fraternity as a regional Financial Specialist and have worked with multiple chapters and officers. In my time in this role, only a handful of students have stood out to me due to their outstanding efforts in their office and strong sense of commitment to our organization; Mackenzie is one of those people. Through her vice president positions in Tri Delta, Mackenzie has shown a sense of maturity beyond her years. Most recently, she was responsible for the chapter’s finances. In this role, she learned how to manage a budget, how to create a new budget, as well as taking imitative to ensure that officers remained within their budgets and were apprised of what remained in their budgets on a regular basis. She has no problem asking for help when needed and takes suggestions for improvement well and then incorporates that new knowledge seamlessly. Mackenzie has also shown that she can lead a team and collaborate well with others, while still being able to work independently as well. She always has the best interest of the organization and its members in mind and carefully balances member needs while keeping in mind the financial reality of these requests. She has worked with a diverse group of members and promoted inclusion of all members within the organization. Many times, she has given presentations to our members regarding issues ranging from conduct and governance to member dues and budget items. She has excellent communication skills, particularly her written communication is strong and detailed. She knows when to seek assistance when an issue that is out of her control or she does not have the right answer to give. I think any organization can benefit from her skills. She is dedicated to the causes that are important to her and has proven knowledge of financial affairs and financial management. Her strong leadership skills will undoubtedly serve your organization well.
