- Supported a $1.2 million qualification of a 3-layer paint system: - This qualification included laboratory testing, risk mitigation, full scale paint hangar tests, a supplier site visit, and project management and performance tracking. - Wrote the official Boeing specification “BMS10-125 Special Effects Topcoats for Composite Aircraft” - This paint system is the white mica and special-effect pigment red and purple Andaro® paint (from PPG Inc.) currently used on all Virgin Atlantic 787’s- 737 paint hangar efficiency study: - My role: Performed time study to identify cost/labor baseline and to identify current process steps and parameters - Purpose of the project: compare cost/labor baseline to potential automated systems currently under development and identify process steps and parameters that would most benefit from automation - I left the position before the project was completed

- Worked to develop coatings which resist electro-chemical corrosion commonly found in aerospace applications- Daily responsibilities included design of experiments, specimen preparation, experimentation, and resultant data analysis.- Experiments were run to test material properties using Chronoamperometry and Linear Sweep Voltammetry

- Worked to develop Ant-Reflective (AR) and Anti-Glare (AG) coatings for use on LCD display glass surfaces. This work included mixing the coatings, sample preparation using spray coating, spin coating, and dip coating, followed by sample curing and performing surface measurements (AFM, SEM), pencil hardness, reflectance, contrast, impact, and colorimetry tests.- Awarded two patents for AR/AG coatings- Had extensive training in safety and health procedures pertaining to strong acids (i.e. hydrofluoric acid)- Worked with international (Tokyo Japan, Hsinchu Taiwan) and regional (Milton, NY) vendors of coating apparatus to communicate requirements and evaluate performance of equipment

- Worked as a lab tech supporting hydraulic fracturing natural gas wells in upstate NY- Formulated cement systems by running experiments to test the set time of cement casings of various compositions at various environmental pressures and temperatures (using a high temperature/high pressure consistometer)- Tested ground water from nearby natural gas wells before and after production to assess contamination levels- Tested fracking fluids for their viscosity break times
