Growing up, Kobe Bryant was my favorite athlete because of his dedication and unflinching resolve. I think he inspired me because - like him - I enjoy challenging myself to be better than I was yesterday. I'm willing to put myself in unfamiliar situations if it means I'll be forced to grow, both personally and professionally. For example, I decided at 33 that I wanted to acquire the degree I never earned after high school, so I swapped the security of my full-time position for a part-time job and the status of full-time student. I'm currently two semesters away from achieving my A.A.S. in Entrepreneurship, and the experience has been very illuminating. I've worked in retail, manufacturing, and sales, along with a moving/relocation business and the restaurant industry in my youth. I've managed multiple teams and one of the best feelings in the world is properly executing the game plan and seeing everyone achieve the goal. I've had several side businesses over the years; mainly buying and selling items online, or reselling items I was given for free (tips are interesting for a professional mover) using internet marketplaces or apps. I've also spent many years doing farm work - ranging from cutting hay to pulling calves. What do all of those share in common? Combining my knowledge of people and my desire for problem solving is how I can make an impact. I'm a multi-tasker who performs well under pressure, in a team setting or individually. I'm a creative thinker whose biggest strength is the ability to connect with and bring the best out of people. I'm an avid sports fan who enjoys gaming and listening to audiobooks. I recently started an NBA blog and also have a YouTube channel.
