Melissa Schmidt has served the families of Lebanon for over thirty years through the Lebanon R-3 school district, private preschool programs and previously served the Pregnancy Support Center in the role of board member, director of program development, and parent educator. Melissa served in the private sector of preschool education and in areas of administration in the public school setting until she developed a non for profit 501c 3 preschool and early childhood center-Doodlebug Playhouse.Melissa returned to the Lebanon R-3 school district to serve in the role of parent education through Parents as Teachers. Melissa served in homes and in the classroom to educate parents of children pre-natal to kindergarten, and in early childhood screenings and as an educator for The Yellowjacket Nest-an expectant parent program for Lebanon R-3 school. Most recently, Melissa completed a state level position with the Missouri House of Representatives with State Representative District #123. Melissa loved serving Laclede and Camden counties alongside Representative Pollock in this capacity. It was considered pure joy to function in the areas of constituent relations, communication and administrative organization in our state Capitol! Melissa loves her newest role as Program Coordinator for Jordan Valley Family Development and Early Childhood Education Center. Melissa has recently launched her campaign for Missouri District #141 State Representative for the 2024 election. Melissa is a Lebanon High School graduate and considers it an honor to serve the community that has been her home for 30 plus years, and the community where she and her husband Aaron, raised their own children. In her spare time, she loves junking and serving as farmer assistant on Aaron's hobby farm.Excited to announce the launch of her campaign for 2024 Missouri House of Representatives for District #141.
