My passion for education started during my formative years going through schools. In my 6+ years as an educator, team lead, and mentor that passion has only been cemented. My hope is to find a position that will allow me to make a positive impact on those around me, while also challenging myself to grow and learn in a professional capacity.During my time in the classroom I have been fortunate enough to be a team lead for 3+ years in the area of literacy. In this time, I guided my team to use research proven, high yield strategies to best meet the needs of students. This role allowed me to serve as a liaison between administration/education coaches and our team. As a mentor teacher I helped new teachers ease into the profession, and acted as a guide as they navigated their first year. This position allowed me the opportunity to observe and evaluate performance as well as required critical thinking skills on how best to help. As a classroom teacher, I was successful at establishing and maintaining positive relationships with students. this role required excellent organizational and communication skills. I was able to manage different projects at once to ensure standards and objectives were being met.I was awarded the Teacher of Excellence Award in 2023 for my commitment to education. This was an award that required my peers to nominate me based of off high levels of student success, collaboration, and team work.In my free time I am a voracious reader and always on the hunt for a good book! I have a goal to read 50 books this year.
