Students Demand Action Field Interns support the local growth and development of Students Demand Action including supporting student leaders engaging in local and statewide gun violence reduction efforts, organizing and managing cultural engagement projects, developing resources for students to engage with their Mayors and local government, voter registration efforts and more.Main projects revolve around expanding the organization's national training program for student leaders through redesigning the organization’s online training platform, developing a comprehensive training catalog of all existing trainings, and finding creative ways to promote leadership development among student volunteers. The Summer Leadership Academy enables communities disproportionately impacted by gun violence to host summer programs which empower low-income students, survivors, and people of color to become community organizers.
