Experienced acquisition professional with a diversified background in the federal contracting arena, including:• 26 years as a member of the trade press covering defense and civilian contracting and budget matters on Capitol Hill and in the Executive Branch agencies;• 1.5 years serving as the in-house acquisition SME for a major defense contractor; and • 12 years as an instructor and curriculum developer for the federal acquisition workforce. Knowledge, skills, and abilities include:• Broad and deep understanding of the legislative, regulatory, policymaking, and political processes;• Strong written communication skills, including researching, writing, and editing reports, analyses, talking points, briefings, speeches, public testimony, and course materials; • Strong oral communication skills, including public speaking in a variety of forums, from corporate board rooms to trade associations to large-scale conferences, and teaching;• Strong business acumen, including competitive analysis, branding, strategic planning, marketing, and business development; • Managerial and executive-level experience; • Ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to forge a consensus; • Comfortable in a representational and public-facing role.
