I have been at Monongahela Power/First Energy for 43 years and have held a variety of positions. I began as a clerk in our Morgantown Office. I was named Service Dispatcher next and honestly that was my favorite position. It was very fast paced and I was directly involved in the day to day operations of the lines staff. When Mon Power, West Penn and Potomac merged in 1996 to become Allegheny Power, I performed that same function but for all 3 operation companies and was promoted to a leadership position in 1997. Unfortunately, the dispatching department's shifts were rotating and shortly after having my daughter, I moved to a leadership position within our Customer Service Center. I also have held leadership positions in the meter reading and collection departments. I moved to my current position in our Substation Support group in 2018. In this position, I have four direct reports who schedule daily work for our substation electricians. My main function is to maintain the labor allocations for 72 physical workers and staying on top of approximately 50-75 major capital projects to assure we have manpower to handle them or have them done by outside contractors.
