I have been a professional writer and editor for more than 20 years. I spent more than 15 years working in the newspaper industry, mostly with military command-information publications, and served as the editor of Soundoff! at Fort Meade, Maryland, and as assistant editor of The Citizen in Stuttgart, Germany. I received numerous Keith L. Ware awards for my work and was recognized as the Thomas Jefferson Department of Defense Print Journalist of the Year for my work. For more than seven years, I worked at PAR, a psychological assessment publishing company in Lutz, Florida. I was hired as an editor/project manager, and in this role I managed a variety of materials from inception to publication, including professional manuals, forms, technical papers, and scholarly materials such as white papers. I also managed, wrote, and/or edited marketing materials including catalogs, blogs, flyers, ads, etc. I continued these duties when I was promoted as a communications manager, where I managed a team including a senior editor, a senior editor/digital content manager, a copywriter, and a production manager.I currently work as an Editor for the Joint Special Operations University (JSOU) Press, part of the United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM), where I edit and manage a variety of scholarly materials in preparation for publication.
