I helped transition the property to become part of the Joie de Vivre Hotels, and 3 months later, the whole collection merged with Destination Hotels and became Two Roads Hospitality. Change management, recruitment, labor relations (Unite HERE Local483) and leadership development were critical in my nearly 2 years at this hotel and restaurant.

Two weeks after earning my Master's Degree in Organizational Leadership, I was interviewing with several companies in New York before accepting the offer to work at WNYC Radio as it was known then. I was interested in staying within broadcasting and working in a union environment. This was a generalist role with focus on recruitment, staffing, labor (AFTRA) and employee relations. During my time there, I achieved my assigned goal of increasing (I doubled) our recruitment sources to include those that reached under served populations within radio broadcasting and non-profit sectors, and learned some of the nuances that are present in an organization with union employees and subject to requirements of an Affirmative Action Plan.
