My responsibilities included producing daily content, managing editorial ranking, mining for event listings and making/updating producer guides. Also, I scheduled posts, engaged users and led contests on social media platforms.

As an e-board member, I helped support the club in any way I could. I ran the @spjonadepaul Twitter account, communicated with guest speakers and panelists, designed flyers, organized events and much more.

I interviewed notable business and media professionals across the country about how they use social media in their careers. My other writing assignments included how-to posts and social media news/trends. I also designed visuals using Photoshop and coded all posts in HTML.

As a weekly columnist for the Opinions section of the University of Illinois' independent publication, I listened to what the campus is talking about, then wrote about it. In March 2013, I researched and wrote "As a Girl Thinks," a five-part series about disordered eating, published both in print and online.

I placed advertisements for upcoming issues of The Daily Illini and Buzz Magazine, and I also designed the crossword/horoscope sections for both publications

As the first-ever intern for the Midwest Director of Bon Appétit, I filed paperwork/advertisements, attended events/meetings and conducted online product/brand research.

As a contributor to the University of Illinois’ Her Campus site, I wrote blog posts about food, health and fitness, then promoted them through social media.

I created, pitched and sold my blog idea to the then-new blogging website. I managed an advice blog, “Ask Mel” for two years, then created “I’m So College: Tales from an Illini Freshman."

I was first selected to be the advice columnist for the weekly publication, then began reporting, too. As a reporter, I collaborated with 10-­‐20 student journalists, editors and designers to plan the upcoming issues of the publication. My job was to interview various Chicago residents and others for stories, and even some celebrities, such as Kris Allen..

I distributed papers to local businesses and homes in the Hinsdale area, as well as filed and organized important documents. I also researched and wrote several pieces for the print publication. Following the end of my internship, I became the youngest contributing columnist to the paper.
