Additional effort toward the separation and… Show more Work in the Organic Chemical Metrology Group to develop methods for characterization of and measurement of important compounds in dietary supplement and food Standard Reference Materials (SRMs). Involved in projects including organic acids and multiple antioxidants in Vaccinium berries, isoflavones in soy, kudzu, and red clover, and water-soluble vitamins and choline in infant formula, milk powder, baby food, egg powder, and breakfast cereal. Additional effort toward the separation and quantitation of unconjugated bilirubin isomers in a bilirubin SRM as well as ammonium and phosphate in an ammonium dihydrogen phosphate SRM. Work extensively with liquid chromatography with both spectroscopic and mass spectrometric detection and ion chromatography with conductivity detection. Additional experience with gas chromatography with mass spectrometric (time-of-flight) detection as well as electrochemical detection for liquid chromatography. Working knowledge of many data systems, including Chromeleon, ChemStation, and Pegasus.Co-coordinator of the Dietary Supplement Laboratory Quality Assurance Program (DSQAP) which provides an interlaboratory comparison program to dietary supplement testing laboratories.
