Established and led corporate communications function at Animas including global, revenue-driving PR and internal communications. Delivered first, full-scale PR launch for Animas OneTouch® Ping®; achieving twice the amount of coverage than competitive product launch. Elevated Animas media SOV from #3 to #1 most mentioned insulin pump (taking share of voice from market leader – cutting their SOV in half) including product placement on Ray Romano’s “Men of a Certain Age.” Supported Company Group Chairman for analyst meeting including slide construction, talking point formulation and speaker coaching.

Built, enhanced and protected corporate reputation and image among key audiences. Re-launched Centocor corporate brand by establishing and promoting new company positioning and branding. Secured press coverage for biologic anti-TNF in gastroenterology indication. Achieved three times greater media results than the competition for decade-old product in a competitive launch year. Worked on first-of-its-kind, direct-to-patient documentary launch including 14-city tour achieving unparalleled media results; won Burke Award for this effort. Launched, managed and authored first pharmaceutical company blog: CNTO411. Provided PR support for R&D and supply chain including press activities and groundbreaking event for new facility in Ireland.

Launched new products, indications and formulations in Central Nervous System category for Alzheimer's disease, schizophrenia and bipolar mania including press coverage for landmark studies published in national medical journals. Managed internal communications including all company-wide meetings, senior manager forum, intranet and presidential speech writing. Improved customer satisfaction from 34 to 85 percent.

Worked and lived in Europe managing global PR efforts on behalf of CNS and antifungal franchises in EMEA and AsiaPAC. Coordinated press conference in Seville, Spain, global release and country-specific PR for global launch of Alzheimer's therapy and acted as chief spokesperson for global issues including label changes on multiple products. Developed and maintained relationships with international advocacy groups in Europe. Created and implemented the first "Advocacy Skill Building" Workshop for all European operating companies across all franchises. This effort has been replicated many times since.

Acted as chief spokesperson for national physician organization handling nearly 2000 press inquiries annually and managing 200-reporter pressroom for one of the largest annual medical meetings. Promoted organization's agenda by writing position statements on policy issues; placing stories; determining newsworthy stories and translating technical, scientific data; media training and setting up interviews for psychiatrists and promoting books printed by the association’s publishing arm.

Ran national issue campaign to increase awareness in U.S. Congress and the media including “Hill Days” and work with Congressmen and Senators and Hill staff; including speech writing for former Second Lady, Tipper Gore, on mental illness for Lincoln Memorial Candlelight Vigil.
