Melissa is a human-centered product designer and UX researcher dedicated to crafting meaningful, delightful experiences for users. Currently Melissa is responsible for digital services strategy, focusing on human-centered design, at Agile Six. Previously, Melissa was the lead of design and product for Goldman Sachs' developer-first platform.In the past, Melissa worked at the U.S Digital Service, a group of diverse technologists working to deliver better government services to the American people through technology and design. As a UX Researcher and Designer in the Government, Melissa has focused on designing and iterating usable, engaging products at several Federal agencies, including the Department of Defense and Department of Veterans Affairs. While serving at USDS, she worked at the Digital Service at VA as the team's content lead, focusing on projects to serve Veterans, most notably consolidating and relaunching VA.gov unified, cohesive site to discover, apply, track, and, manage the all benefits in one place. Prior to joining USDS, Melissa dabbled in the private sector, designing and conducting user research at Esri, Reingold, and other companies. She also founded the UX department at Reingold, Inc., a strategic communications and digital agency, designing beautiful, usable experiences for a variety of Federal Government and Association clients, which included the Department of Veterans’ Affairs, CareConnect, and the NFL.Melissa holds a BA in Art History with, honors, from The George Washington University. She has actively engaged with General Assembly, as a former student and part-time UX instructor. When she isn't interviewing users, designing prototypes, and iterating products, she enjoys testing her culinary skills, exploring museums, and taking on a variety of crafts and DIY projects.
