Managed the Local Retail staff, Key accounts staff and Classified, Real Estate, Automotive and Recruitment staffs. Lead two regional staffs who produce weekly, semi-weekly and monthly publications.Implemented a new sales structure and discipline that focused on daily sales activities, a robust sales pipeline and monthly results. Filled more than seven vacancies on a staff of 32 by consolidating lists and recruiting new sales talent. First major sales initiative exceeded goal by 16% on a goal of $302,000.

Florence, Alabama Area

Managed the Advertising Sales Staffs at two daily newspapers. Staff included 13 Outside Account Executives, a 9-person Call Center, and a Pre-press Production Department of 13. Four managers and an event coordinator reported directly were direct reports. Four Advertising assistants and Junior Account Executives provide sales and administrative support to the department. Team created five sports contests and promotions that engaged readers and offered advertisers unique sponsorships and marketing packages. These promotions drove new readers to the company and to advertisers' businesses.In first two years launched four new web sites that covered the entire Tennessee Valley. These included TNValleyWheels.com, TNValleyHomefinder.com, TNValleyJobfinder.com and TNValleyBrides.com. The automotive and home sites were the largest in North Alabama, as measured by the number of local listings.Thoroughly trained staff in both traditional newspaper products and new and emerging digital media products. They confidently provided solid multimedia expertise and consulting to all or our local advertisers.
