About Melissa Wilkinson

I’m a people person. I crave putting on real pants and going to the office, will never turn down a meeting, and have strong opinions on the best icebreakers to get to know someone. I have a writing degree, and clear communication is my utmost goal. My title at Hightower Wealth Advisors is the Client Experience Associate, but I introduce myself as the office's "butler." I take pride in creating an organized, considerate, and delightful environment for our team and our clients. I previously worked as a peer review coordinator for academic journals, where I helped international scholars publish their research in a wide variety of disciplines. Outside of work, I’m a bar trivia quizmaster and I’ve been co-hosting weekly pop culture podcasts since 2018. I have as much experience behind a microphone as I do with a keyboard and mouse, but I’m happiest being a member of the ensemble instead of the star of the show.__SECURITIES OFFERED THROUGH HIGHTOWER SECURITIES, LLC | MEMBER FINRA/SIPCHIGHTOWER ADVISORS, LLC IS A SEC REGISTERED INVESTMENT ADVISOR

When a manuscript was accepted for publication, I confirmed that all peer review was conducted according to publisher standards and that files met the production team’s technical specifications. I was solely responsible for the journal's e-mail inbox, handling queries from authors, reviewers, and editors, also on a 24-hour turnaround time.I managed the biggest journal in our group by manuscript volume (over 4,000 submissions in 2023), in addition to an interlinked collection of 12 of journals under a prolific academic society. I consistently maintained the largest individual workload in our team. The publisher would specifically request me when a journal needed exemplary service for high-touch clients. I served as our team's primary trainer for new hires, training 15 other coordinators, as well as assistants, interns, and cross-training for employees in other departments. In fall 2023, our team developed a new structure, and I was promoted to Lead Coordinator for one of our two sub-teams, where I facilitated coverage for six teammates and directed daily tasks for the team assistant.
