The Cultural Journey was at a crossroads, and we needed to make sure that we understood the current and future data in order to make some needed changes. This is one of the few times I have seen a student team offer a level of service equivalent to paid professionals in the field. Meno and her team took time to understand the organizational context for the project, re-analyze existing evaluation data into a coherent package, and conduct focus groups to more deeply understand how best to assess the impact of our onboarding process. Meno led some of the most important discovery processes in addition to facilitating the focus groups. She also functioned, because of her prior involvement with GLIDE, as a functional bridge between the organization and the students. I would normally not allow an outside group the opportunity to work on such a high priority project, but the skill sets and sensitivity offered by Meno and the team convinced me that it was worth a try, and that conviction paid out in spades. As a result, we not only got a more concise, validated assessment tool, but as a bonus we were also able to hear some valuable feedback about the Cultural Journey itself that helped us redesign the actual experience. The new Cultural Journey owes much of its revision to data collected and presented by this extraordinary student team. "
