Embarking on a meaningful journey in the field of safety since August 2023, I bring my unique blend of practical expertise and human resources insights, as well as my passion for workplace safety and health. My transition to manufacturing began in 2018 with welding. In 2021, I graduated from CCC&TI with my AAS in Welding Technology. As a welder, I developed a deep appreciation for the importance of safety in high-risk environments. This foundational experience, combined with a brief but insightful foray into human resources, has equipped me with an understanding of operational needs, team morale, and the importance of effective communication in fostering a safe workplace.As a Safety Specialist, I have eagerly immersed myself in learning and applying safety protocols, hazard identification, risk assessment, and compliance with both OSHA standards and internal policies. My transition from welding to safety was driven by a firsthand recognition of the challenges and risks associated with industrial work, as well as a strong desire to contribute positively to creating safer work environments.Key accomplishments in my budding safety career include:• Successfully promoting safety ideals to team members, emphasizing hazard recognition related to welding and fabrication processes.• Collaborating in the review and update of safety documentation and emergency response plans, ensuring relevance and compliance.• Facilitating our company wide safety call to supervisors and upper management, sharing safety topics and strategies.My practical skills are complemented by my ability to relate to and communicate with a diverse workforce, thanks to my background in both welding and HR roles.
