I am the Director of Innovation & Technology at ARCO/Murray Design-Build in Chicago. The ARCO Innovation Division is an advanced, diverse, entrepreneurial team of cross-disciplinary associates committed to identifying ARCO’s biggest challenges and to work alongside the business units to produce and implement creative solutions, most often through the application of technology. We find, pilot, and purchase off-the-shelf solutions, build our own web applications and tools in-house, and partner with con-tech startups that couple with our unique design-build offering. Specific to my Innovation Lead Role, I have created numerous tools to close operational gaps between our core applications and data sources. I improved our Industrial Group's estimate template to produce more accurate estimates in a fraction of the time, developed a tool for our controllers that saves hundreds of hours annually, created a task-tracking Power App for our Multi-Family Division, and several tools and templates that utilize data from Procore to allow project managers and executives to make confident decisions.Prior to joining ARCO/Murray, I founded and ran 14Fathoms, LLC - a construction software company based in Chicago. I was the chief developer of several software products, which included applications for general contractors to use during the bidding and scope review processes of construction projects. I also created custom business solutions with Microsoft 365 including Excel, Word, Access, and Outlook. I designed and implemented custom database solutions and full stack web applications using AWS, GoogleCloud, and DigitalOcean.I received my Bachelor of Business Administration in Management Information Systems from the Mendoza College of Business at the University of Notre Dame. I initially worked as a financial information technology consultant with Accenture and then joined Turner Construction as a project manager, where I worked for six years. There, I combined my IT knowledge with my construction experience and built innovative software products for the construction industry. I live with my wife and our daughter in Chicago. I enjoy biking along the lakefront, using my indoor rower, and learning how to play guitar (alongside my daughter, who is already much better at it than I am).
