From 2010-14 I helped found a new urban planning organization to support Indonesian cities in the areas of resilience, governance, and inclusion. Along the way we also consulted for UN Habitat, Mercy Corps, and Development Workshop in Mongolia, Indonesia, and Angola. Today, I continue to support Kota Kota's leadership through its Advisory Board.

In my first professional role as a designer, I relocated to New Orleans in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina to work with FSA and several local architecture firms on the Rockefeller Foundation’s rebuilding plan for the city. These experiences set the stage for a career-long engagement with climate change.

The most notable of these was the light memorial following September 11, 2001, which is still presented each year in Lower Manhattan.
